Had a session in one of the seats on one of the estates. Managed a munty buck.
On the drive out of the wood we spotted 3 red stags on the drilled rape. One, a spiker and 2 10 pointers.
Got out of truck and stalked in to the edge of the wood to a suitable tree providing both good cover and a stable rest.
The 2 big boys were have a right old battle, so i sat tight for a bit to watch and steady my heart rate.
They stopped rutting but now the 2 big lads were on the horizon and the smaller one was laying down.
One of the big stags started to make his way back to the woods and passed across in front of me maybe 40 yrds.
Sent a 156 grainer into the engine room and he was hit good and true. Initial shot reaction was very muted, but a fews paces and a bit of a wobble and he was down.
Fully gralloched with head and feet off he weighed in at just shy of 100kg...so he was a big boy
Not the best pic due to the fading light
