A positive thread

Is that shooting & trapping combined?

Yes Ben
But tbh - on our shoot i hardly shot any corvids - or trapped any squirrels

Up the road - about 5 miles away we have had over 2000 crows / jacks in last couple of years and a good number of foxes up on the moors

Good thread and perhaps overdue from we generally quiet lot.
In my case the “good” has been obvious in the numbers of snipe and woodcock I now see regularly on one hillside - after only one year and 47 foxes later; brings a wee smile to my face every time I go out….

Just had half an hour in our car park the other day - it didnt pick up many of the species whos calls were maybe drown out - but i also saw Bullfinch - Siskin - Yellowhammer - redwing - starling - reed bunting - raven - buzzard - kestrel - spar

nothing as industrial for me ..... just a pile of bird feeders form home bargains dotted about the garden and fat balls.....
fair enjoy watching them from kitchen window or from hot tub in garden if yer sitting quietly ...
i was wondering about putting more out round the other side of house .... when i get back off this floating hell hole north o Shetland, this thread giving me the push to buy more do more.

and if get more evenings in garden with the old fac theobhan rapid 12 and the NV or thermal than a nights fun out of it as well.

i have noticed last year we never used to have magpies in garden .... now half dozen or more going about so .....mmmmmmm

What Geoff has done up on Abney moor is pretty amazing. It's not just a purely innovative approach either, he's also rebuilt hundreds of meters of stone walls that would otherwise disappear. It's a beautiful place to spend time in.
It's a pity yourself and all the others put forward for these awards don't get the credit you deserve from outside out community.

We are having plenty of interest now from many of the wildlife trusts - the forestry commission has just invited us to apply for their higher level stewardship - even the RSPB in fairness and our MPs have acknowledged our work - so pretty / very positive

I borrowed a larsen last year, but didn't start until May but caught 13. I thought I'd buy my own this year and am seeing someone tonight to borrow "Cooper"
