Wanted: Advice on getting a gun collected

I am posting here as I really don’t know which section to put this.
I need a gun collecting and being sent to me. It is my uncles gun who is seriously ill it was my grandads before that. The problem is it is a 6 hr drive away in Tankerton Kent.
Caa as n anyone offer advice off a friendly rfd who would collect it and send it up to me I am willing to pay for their time.
The gun isn’t worth much but it has sentimental value to me.

If it's a Sec 2 shotgun then anyone with a SGC could transport it for you. Worth asking on here whether anyone is likely to be travelling that route in the near future.

Any RFd with a Parcelforce account can arrange collection direct from the certificate holder and delivery to another RFD

Thanks I have spoke to the 2 gun shops I use locally and they say it has to go to an rfd and be sent from there. Is this correct as one said it’s best to go and collect it even with it being a 12 hour round trip.
But then again I asked them about trading my cz527 in against a new t3 and they weren’t interested in that either.

Hi Ed

I would have a look at the terms on your parcelforce account mate. If its the same as ours it says firearms and shotguns must be collected or delivered to / from an RFD which can be verified by Parcelforce.

I think you are probably correct on the legality front, but i wouldnt want you to lose your PF account accidentally
