This is something I would be very interested in but cannot make any long term arrangements at the moment due to health.
I have made a note of your contact and will see how things go in the new year.

No problem EMcC, if your health becomes better (hope it's nothing serious) - feel free to contact me.

Do you need hunting licence from Portugal and what’s processing for taking a rifle ect please? Just thinking for the future as don’t think I can make February! But would love to do this!

Yes, you need Portuguese hunting licence (I'll organise that for you). For taking a rifle with you, you need airline co. which carry rifles and your EFP. Of course, if the UK leaves the EU, the procedure will depend on the deal, but most likely you'll need your UK firearm certificate and invitation letter.

I went to Portugal last February with TAP from Manchester with rifle - no problems. On arrival in Lisbon I showed EFP and insurance (BASC card) and letter of invitation- police permit issued and straight thru. Next guy was Swiss - no EFP (not in European Group) so they asked for his national firearms licence and insurance - no issues followed me out.
The police escorted me from customs to their office land side and it all took about 15 minutes. Same on leaving - just hand in police permit and take receipt to airline desk.
