Hi all, looking for an AIM drag bag (or the identical other-named versions).

Must be the 60” version to handle a long barrel.

Not fussed on colour really, but would prefer tan or olive if given the choice! ☺️

Thanks, Martin

Hey,
He has an offer on them atm taking them down to £180 from £216.

Gosh, that’s on offer?! I guess I might be out of touch with how much a rifle bag costs nowadays! 😂

I’ve got an ogdons one and it’s fantastic, i got the double version so it holds 2 but I think they do a single aswell and I can’t recommend mine enough

Think there about £160 new

pretty good value for something that lasts as well as they do and is protecting your rifle , before aim i brought blackhawk ones and they really are expensive but buy once cry once i guess ?

Which ones would be recommended for a very large rifle that weighs about 24lb, maximum protection? I can't find a Peli style case long enough. The mutt took out her boredom on my as new Aim 60.....

how long?

Fits fine in an Aim 60, just that madam chewed all the zips off. Never felt it really offered the level of protection for that weight of rifle though.

I have the AIM Scout setup for my other rifle, hence wincing at the price of buying a 2nd, but I need something for when I want to take more than 1 rifle to the range. And like @Malxwal i am always seriously concerned about the weight being carried in a fabric bag, but it’s held up well. Both my long-guns are 50” and 52” a piece, hence wanting the 60 model really.

A quick Google around and I think I might end up with an Elltech bag from Optics Warehouse. They say they’ll carry a 52” rifle, and at £70 it’s a fraction of the AIM cost. I don’t need a bag for hiking across Vietnam, just to get from car to bench really, so suspect this will do.

I’ll give it 48hrs though incase anyone finds an AIM that they can part with for a good price.

I have the equivalent of the elltech bag @Derraco and have had 2 rifles in it with ease. One is a 28 barrel target rifle. Mine is called Astra....think I got it from MM sporting about 4 years ago. Looks the same though.

Its unbalanced if using just the grab handles, but the rucksack straps are pretty sturdy and sits pretty high on your back too, so comfortable enough to carry.

The cover of the rucksack straps did slightly rip, but my fault rather than the manufacturing quality. Zips etc are fine too. Not Aim standard, but good enough to transport two rifles.

Mine is purely for car to firing point so perfect for that. The padded divider inside it is handy too and stops them clanging together.

That’s perfect - thank you so much 🙏🏼

Mate, you know I like my Kit! 😉

I also have 3 AIM bags but I also have 2 Savior bags. Both two rifle versions. These bags are IMHO built to the same quality and durability as AIM but you can get 2 rifles in and they are well protected! Also loads of other pockets for the crap you cant get in the range bag!
The two I have are for short guns 30 & 42” versions but I would happilly carry my long guns in them. The larger one took me quite a few minutes of faffing to set up the shoulder straps but it was worth it - if anything it carrys weight better than the AIM.
Worth a look for you ! 😉

Looks like the Savior bags are identical to the much cheaper Nuprol bags from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0745WDR29?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5&th=1). They definitely share the exact same design of rifle retention strap, which is way inferior to that of the AIM bags. The AIM bags have straps that hold the rifle on the centreline of the case. The Nuprol and Savior bags have velcro straps that attach to the edges of the bag. I have had both and the AIM ones are a much better design.

I'm currently using a Nuprol for my AR15 but I don't really like it. But the AIM is actually over-engineered for what I need so I probably won't bother to change. Unless someone here has an AIM 45 that they want rid of.

Nuprol do a 54 inch one, BTW.

I also purchased an Elltech drag bag. I'm very happy with it for the money. I think it was Nunhunter on this forum who recommended them... what has happened to her/him :-|

Think I've found a case for her:
