Hi

Can anyone confirm what unit the Alpex reticles are in? I'm assuming the stadia lines are MOA?

TIA

Not sure there is any accuracy to the stadia lines though I’ve seen the ret data from the alpex site - they don’t appear to line up at distance

I tend to use hold over (estimated)

What about the thinness of the reticle lines? I had been wondering if it is possible to make the HIKmicro reticles more "chunky" to stand up visually to cover and for quicker target acquisition. This is my main critique of the the Alpex 4K. Any idea if it is possible to make the reticle crosshairs more pronounced? Or if this is a HIKmicro software issue being resolved?

It is going to be included in the next update from what I understand.

My understanding is that the latest firmware update (5.5.124_250607) reduced the thickness of the reticles. ...i thought it was my eyes failing after i updated.

I think the next update will correct this and maybe add a new function to allow user adjustment of the reticle thickness.
In the mean time Hik released a temporary fix (5.5.124_250707) which reinstates the original thickness. 5.5.124_250707
I have loaded this and the reticle thickness seems ok again, although i only had a very quick check, i've not been out shooting with it as yet.

Thanks for that. It is quite strange get so much right in the Alpex 4K and not have reticle thickness adjustment. They could add thicker reticles in the selection as another possibility. They need more hunters on their research and development. I think having a strong reticle is very important. I have noticed the difference between my older Zeiss optical scope and the Alpex 4K. It makes all the difference at that moment of truth when you pull the trigger to be able to focus hard on the right spot on a live animal just about to move.

I returned mine as I couldn’t see a thing esp as most are red and I’m red green colour blind
