Altberg military spec boots

Has anyone any recent experience of the Altberg military spec boots ?
I quite fancied a pair of the Aqua Sneeker boots which seemed waterproof and light, should be fine for lowland and woodland methinks.
Advice on fit and quality of current/recent purchases if you have, cheers.

I'm going up there next week to have a look as I thought they looked good for it too. Will report back if visit is successful.

Ah, ideal to be able to try them on, but it's a fair hike from Furryboots to Altberg Boots !
I'll look forward to your reports !

I've had a few pairs of the military spec altbergs all have been great and hard wearing aqua sneekers where ok but but I don't like lined boots I prefer leather with a soft leather lining.

I have a pair of peacekeepers, cracking boots but the skywalk sole is deadly slippy on wet rock etc Prefer vibram soled boots.

If you are a serving police officer, you get a discount with altberg if you can prove it.
I got a pair of peacekeepers a couple of weeks ago and they were £97 instead of £135.

I have the Altberg walking boots, sorry cant remember name but they are a brown version of the old defender boot I had in the Army, cant fault them as they don't have the dreaded goretex liner!

Having pondered the pros and cons of the waterproof lining, I think I'm more likely to go down the non waterproof lining route. Better attention to a proper leather treatment and better breathability and lighter still, should do fine but for all but the worst of unseen boggy bits where you're in to your knees anyway.
I t was more the generosity of fit I was concerned with, but then everybodys feet are different, so it's irrelevant unless everyone says "go up a half size" etc.

If it is of any help at all for comparison, My altberg boots are a 9.5 however when I wear adidas trainers I am a 10.
Both are normal and not wide fitting.

Cheers David, as long as I know they aren't small for size. Push comes to shove I just swallow the cost of refund /return.

Iv got a pair of alt-berg sneakers, if you walking to colchester everyone and anyone swears buy these. I use them on my shoot and think there fab, I do hate polishing them for parade on monday morning though.

If your after a better made boot than the Altberg, look at Lowa or Meindle military (closed eyelet) models.

Neither boot failed on me in years I have my last pair of Meindles 5 yrs and on my 4th year on the Lowa's

I get Altbergs issued at work, I wouldnt buy them for myself
