I had a model 52 S&W .38 special semi auto pistol back in the early 90s, I then took it with me when I worked in the USA but my house over there was robbed and it was stolen.
Left over were the original walnut grips as I had fitted Pachmayer rubber ones and 2x new magazines and one used one that were not taken.
They have been laying around all these years so I popped them onto egun a few days ago. The 3x mags are at 78€ and the grips are at 48€, amazing.

also had a s&w model 52 great gun for police pistol discipline, wad cutters only, was a sad day when i handed it in.

i had a friend with one (long since passed) and i quite liked it but always shot better with my 686 at PP1

Reminded me I still have the original walnut grips from one of these as handed over as part of the pistol ban:

The NPA tried, for Service Pistol I think (?) to write rules to prohibit .38 Special loaded with wadcutters? By some sort of cartrige length dimension benchmark?

Service Pistol B could use the model 52 but Service Pistol A only allowed the use of a standard as issued then to the military, a browning hi-power 9mm.

Shot the colt 1911 in practical pistol as was a major calibre so scored higher than a minor calibre like a 9mm but the 9mm held more ammo in the magazine. Then one up the chamber, cocked and locked, holstered and away we went.

Accuracy, score vs time.

I bought two .32 S & W Long SAKO Triace magazines at a Bedford auction a year ago. For £10 the pair. Finally got around to entering them in to a Norfolk auction where they sold last month. Made £50 on the hammer. I always like if buying at auction to have one of these "petrol money" lots.

Do you all remember the tale of the dealer who bought up all the old stock of revolver holsters from the Met Police because they had changed over to semi-automatic pistols? He apparently paid them about £1.00 each.

Once the pistol ban came in he was able to 'hand them in' at the agreed flat rate of £5.00 each ... Not sure how many he had bought, but even so!
