An alternative to Araldite?

Evening all,

In preparation for an impending bedding job I went out to buy some Araldite to glue the pillars in but rather than the twin syringes that squeezed out two lines of epoxy that you then mixed together, they have switched over to a nifty new mixer nozzle. OK, sounds like a cracking idea but you only get 2 nozzles per pack & they appear to be single use so once both used the rest of the contents of the syringes is useless.

Now before anyone says, yes, I know you can still buy the stuff in the metal tubes with screw top lids but I don’t want to go down that route.

So, the question, in the absence of the old style syringes, what is anyone using/recommending instead of good old fashioned Araldite? - I’ve tried gorilla glue but it doesn’t go properly hard so I am loath to use it to glue bedding pillars in.

Any advice most welcome.

Thanks.
Have you tried cleaning the nozzles after use but when the mixed epoxy is still soft, with eg cellulose thinners?

I’d personally suggest DevCon as being a better bet for the job in mind, but be that as it may, I expect you’ll have already fished this particular job.

Used JB Weld epoxy in the end to glue the pillars in & used it all last season.

Have now also done a full bedding job using Mulax stainless steel epoxy putty ready for the coming season.
