Another reloading what to buy thread

Maybe you are using the wrong tool. My understanding is that the proper tool to use to remove the bushing on the the Lee classic cast is a 1 5/16" wrench. Because, you know, everyone has one of those laying about, so they chose that. :-|

Not sure what other presses use - probably similar.
The hex area is much thinner from top to bottom so my only wrench/spanner keeps slipping off, they may have been loctited in. Maybe there is a market for a specific tool to do this as all these bushings on my numerous presses look to have been supplied by the same maker.

A socket with an impact wrench will take it out.
 
As above you may consider installing one of the quick change systems like Hornady lock-n-load or the Lee breech lock system.
For this reason alone I went down the Hornady classic press route. Bought spare bushings for all my die bodies, decap dies, puller. A flawless system, so long s I don’t change my bullet weights is a simple go to when reloading another batch of 300…
