Another shark death.

Is it sharks or watersports enthusiasts that are on the increase?

And "Top Stories" no.4 makes very sad reading......

Thats the risk of going into their world, people are killed or maimed by Bears every year, including Europe, big cats account for round 300 people a year, 100s of 1000s killed by snakes a year, far, far more people are killed by dogs than sharks.

I have entered their world, have been inches from a White Shark,South Africa, 20mts from a Bull Shark, Bahamas, the same with Reef Sharks SCUBA in Australia. I was actually advised not to swim in the netted area of the beach at Trinity Bay, QLD, due to Irukandji, did I heed the advice…….To fcuking right I did!

Shite happens to people who put themselves in danger all the time, the animals are just doing what they do. But as John said, if you dress yourself up to look like a Seal……You just might attract unwanted attention.

RIP.

As most on the SD would know I am a champion for the wearing of camo for deer hunting,it works for me. However there appears to be a place for it in the ocean as well.
I don't think that any wet suit colour will overcome the scenario of a wriggly vibratory fish on the end of a spear when a big shark is hungry and you are on the other end of the spear lol....fkuc that! Btw my own 6mm suit is BLACK!

Wearing a plain black wetsuit can make you look like a seal or a wounded animal from a predator's point of view, which is why many spearfishers opt for camo wetsuits. Camouflage breaks up your human silhouette, helping you blend into the reef and avoid being mistaken for a shark's primary prey.
