Anyone use in ear hearing protection while stalking?

I've been looking around and found a few different makes of in ear protection for less than £100, the two main ones being Cens and Noisebreaker by Emtec. These are passive, not digital.

Does anyone use these while stalking as I was mainly going to get them for when I use the shottie, but if they do not dull the sounds too much I think they would be good to protect my hearing at all times shooting?

To be honest I don't wear any for stalking but do with shotgun , I should as I've lost a lot of hearing from my left ear due to industrial deafness .

Used Walkers Tactical ear years ago, was ok but the wet/moisture eventually got the better of them. This was before sound mods of course.

I use Peltor Sport Tac for all my shoot be it range or hunting. Should be able to get a pair for about £100

I use 'issue' in ear plugs, they have two 'ends', green and yellow, the green reduce all sounds, the yellow, just loud/sudden noise, great for the shotgun, all I hear is the action cycling, and use a mod on the rifles, bar the T4, so I tend to wear them if using that too. Might be worth a look in your local army surplus store

I wear the Emtec ones, very comfy once your used to them. They do work well at stopping the harmful noises, well worth the money

I have a couple pair of the silicone molded plugs. Comfortable and very good about reducing blast. I almost always use them shotgunning (26 years of jet airplanes and guns - so lots of hearing loss). However, I do not wear them when rifle shooting, since that is usually a 1 shot game. After my stalking with Malc I have come back to the states and begun the onerous process of getting a moderator (here in the US we classify them the same as full auto machine guns - we do have some gun laws in the states that are stupider than yours).

I wish I had ...a life time of shooting without any protection only stopped when it was to late ...now its a case of saving what little is left ...no hearing aid you buy is as good as the one you get for free . Look after it .....this advice is from a deaf fool ...

Thanks guys now I just need to decide which ones!! Bewsh do you mean you slot one or both in as you approach the deer or when something appears if you are sitting in the high seat?

Limey, these are the sites I have been looking at.

Emtec Laboratories £75 + VAT per pair and lead time 6 weeks at the moment

Buy Hearing Protection Shop - CENS® £90 all in and apparently around 1 week delivery after the mould has been taken. These have more fitting centers than Emtec and seem to be quite popular

yes, pretty much
on the hill you have plenty of time to pop them in both ears.
stalking roe in woodland doesn't always allow for that as they can be there and gone in seconds but any seen at distance then ear plugs again
I use a moderator for roe for this reason

Yes indeed, moulded ear plugs from Specsavers!
Seriously I have had many years of shooting and playing bass guitar too loud.
Spare parts for hearing do not exist... so for youngsters it is time to start from day one.
Specsavers do excellent moulded plugs which do not stop normal hearing.
Well worth a try.

I always wondered though if the deer maybe do not hear something from the electronic versions that is inaudible to humans, whistling etc. , at least that is what I would be most concerned about deer stalking. Pheasant shooting I happily wear my ear protection; at first everyone had a go at me in a kind of macho way way, but now they all say it is a good idea! If I could be convinced the electronic versions that enhance hearing are definitely 100% inaudible to deer, I would readily use them as it would only enhance your hearing while stalking, and that has got to be a good thing.
