I have to say that if I won one ( would never buy) it would be in the "for sale" section immediately.[/TD]

Depends what is meant by "bolt repeater". Basically if it's a bolt action rifle, then possibly. If it's capable of semi-auto or full auto use, then no. But of course that's only the starting point. You would have to show "good reason" to be able to have one. As I understand it, that calibre is a necked down .50BMG. The only realistic way you'd be able to possess one here would be for use on the range and use would be limited to that. Handy if some more critters break out from Jurassic Park and find their way here though.

Yes , subject to good reason and somewhere to shoot it , you could try the 50cal shooters association?

We have wide open spaces where that thing couldnt shoot from one boundary to the other BUT WHY on earth would anyone want one?
I was advised its $25 a shot! That`s another reason not to own.

with that sort of space why shouldn't you be allowed one?

No T-rexs in the outback m8,or body armour wearing dingo,e anywhere .Maybe there,s a hidden herd of Predator,s inside Ayres rock we dont know about.WTF for hits the nail on the head i suppose some would say because you can

The challenge of hitting steel at ungodly distances ?

Yep. The 'shooting community' is a very broad church. I've watched a posse of .50 cal shooters having a great time on F Range at Sennybridge, shooting out to 1800m. Not my cup of tea (especially not at £5? a pop), but they clearly enjoyed it.
