ATV Insurance

I'm currently awaiting delivery of a new quad bike. It shall be Agri registered for limited road use.

There doesn't appear to be a great deal of insurance providers specialising in ATVs.

Any recommendations on who you are currently insuring your quad with would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Dunno if changed now, but used to be a pain insuring ur 1st esp when brand new.
We used to struggle as insurers want a reg number but DVLA want ins, so becomes a chicken and egg thing.

It used to be a real pain hurrying the DVLA up enough, insurers used to give u 10 or so days on the serial number, but then got impatient wanting the number plate.
No problem when u already have a bike/insurance, but been a long time since I bought the 1st new bike with no trade in.
Might be better now

Aye flux is ur most likely, for a while went throu a Brooker in Ayr farmers mercantile I or something.
NFU sometimes want u to insure other stuff with them not keen on stand alone quads.

Aye it's a bit of a nightmare. .
I've already got the registration number but dosnt seem to be making much difference.

They are clearly a high theft risk so I'm guessing that's the main issue. I'll give Flux and NFU a try tomorrow.

U could try that farmers mercantile, they weren't too bad, and done my public liability too at the time.

The problem I had wi them is insured all my vehicles throu them, flipped a motor and then got crashed into on my quad, my only 2 accidents in 2 years everything went throu the roof after that.

If u have number plate should make it a lot easier thou

Bike sure, Adrian Flux, I insure through them fully comp. For the last four years, I cannot remember the exact price but just over 200 pounds.

For anyone interested who may find themselves searching the forum with a similar query in the future -

NFU will not insure an ATV only, must be part of a business package, liability insurance etc.

After much faffing about I got a fully comp policy including business and private use for £210.00. Thought that was quite reasonable for an 8.5k bike. Company was Groves and Dean.

Hope this helps anyone else who may be searching for similar.
