The issues I have with Holt's are their excessive (IMO) commission fees and the fact that they use the low estimate as a minimum bid, at least they do on the sealed bid auction. This can often lead to you paying very near (or even more than) shop price for many items.That said, it didn't stop me bidding on a few lots at their last auction.

Got to agree with you there.
The rifles I was looking at were cheap to say the least but by the time I'd figured in commision,VAT and RFD to RFD transfer they suddenly lost their appeal
