Bahco Knife

A little while ago, one of my mates put me on to this.

Well curiosity got the better of me!

I flogged the Eka Swingblade, as nice a knife as it was to look at, it drove me mad having a knife I spent more time cleaning than cutting with.

£7.72 later on a well known internet site, my Bahco arrived.

Needless to say I am a convert, nice to handle, easy to clean and sharp as the preverbial!

Yet to give mine a proper sharpen, stropping has maintained a razor sharp edge from new.

Whilst I am the first to admire some of the fine craftmenship in knives that is evident on this forum, at the end of the day the Bahco is a knife which does the business with no frills.

So if you are in the market for a new knife, try out the budget option first, I am happy with mine.

Isn't it just a Mora ?
Very good knives though I must admit, a bit like the Opinels, very underrated.
A big plus is they are so easy to sharpen.
I used to touch my Opinel up on a block wall.

I regret the day I listened to the hype and bought 2 swingblades to replace my mora knives, especially when you have to larder any small deer

After that expense I plan to use to use them until they fall apart...

I think the difference is that Bahco is a well known tool brand in Scandinavia. So they are Mora knives sold as part of the Bahco tool range.

yes a small opinel is always useful as emergency knife,
expensive knives are well crafted and often objects of great beauty,
if you can afford them go ahead and collect them.
even better get a knife making kit and make one

but
​ I always carry an orange Bush knife and a little Bush saw.in my roesack
inexpensive but effective.

I use one of these as my primary blade and it keeps an edge very well. Used all season for field and larder work.

I have a folding saw from Bahco since so many years, i can't remember and still in avery good shape
