BASC needs your help to further boost our complaint against Barnardos over its campaign film, which portrayed members of the sporting shooting community attempting to kill problem children because they saw them as vermin.

We’d like to hear from anyone (you don’t have to be a BASC member) who found the film offensive, and has stopped giving money to the charity because of it.

Please email us at david.ilsley@basc.org.uk

We need your name, a BASC membership number if applicable, and a few words saying what youb thought of the film and that it has led you to stop donating to Barnardos. If you give on a regular basis, perhaps via standing order could you also mention this.

The ‘Hunting’ film produced by Barnardos can still be found on their website. BASC continues to ask for this offensive film to be withdrawn, and for an apology to be placed on the Barnardos web site.

advert

I complained to the advertising standards agency.

Waste of time as it has not been on the TV

ASA - no interest as it’s not an advert

Charity Commission - no interest as the film was not aimed at making money - just awareness

BUT we have found another way to try to force them to take this film off and issue a proper apology - and we need at least 50 people to e-mail us to confirm that they have stopped their donations to Barnardos because of this film.

David - great to see the tireless work that BASC are doing on our behalf against this offensive piece of media. I will send you a PM as I didn't buy a product in a shop this week because it had a sticker on it saying part of the price would be dontated to Barnados.

All the best,

Jim

Sent my support to BASC, its time charities realised where thier funds come from.

Barnados get in the region of £105 - £110 million funding per annum from the government. It appears from my recent contact with them they don't care a jot about offending a few shooters  email sent to BASC.
