BASC's statement justifying their status as a Community Benefit Trust:-
"The whole community benefited from the campaigning undertaken by the Association and by the work it did in informing and educating decision makers at all levels in relation to matters related to the sport, its participants and the benefits it delivers. Shooting participants and other received benefit from the technical guidance, training and education made available to them by the Association. The general public has benefited from the work BASC does to ensure the existence of well-controlled, self-regulated shooting sector which acts responsibly and safety and delivers conservation benefits at a landscape scale. They have benefited from the economic contribution made by the sport as well as the work the Association has done to encourage country-sports based tourism in the UK and to develop the UK market for game meat. The rural environment and economy have benefited from the delivery of conservation by the Association itself and by the work it has done to enable and encourage its members to undertake conservation projects. Wildlife and their habitats benefited directly from those projects "
If you want to check the accounts - look at the record on here Mutuals Public Register: The British Association for Shooting and Conservation Limited lodged for up to 2018. It requires downloading.
