We have run 4 Introduction to Woodpigeon Shooting courses this year. Our Regions and Countries all run Wildfowling events for youngsters, newcomers and ladies as well as incorporating wildfowling into some of the Introductory Young shots days.

We also have 140 Wildfowling clubs, most of which run their own training/induction courses which are specific to their own ground/marsh/estuary.

Their is no difference except it is aimed at women, but not exclusively for women

The pre DSC1 as Peter has said is for those with little experience of rifles etc but getting into the sport. I haven't done it but know a few who did. And to be honest I know a few who really could do with doing it despite them owning firearms for many years. .
Not every one has access to a mentor or understands how far away a bullet can kill etc etc. Mention DSC1 and you may as well mention landies or blaser because you have loads who agree and disagree with it. My opinion is that I did DSC1 and I learnt an awful lot that helped me. So I see that for the correct person, not all, the Pre Dsc1 will be beneficial. I do not see it as a license to print money but a way to help people. And no, I am not on the committee or involved in selling such things or indeed anything much to do with Basc.

I remain cynical, and completely unconvinced. I'm not anti-DSC in any way, shape, or form, but if anyone sees the need for a course to prepare them for the most basic qualification perhaps there's an argument that the existing DSC1 needs to be more comprehensive in the first place.

Absolute licence to print money the amount of courses out there are ridiculous, how come we managed for years before they all came in ???? Somehow landowners and stalkers alike have been brainwashed into thinking they need theses , by funnily enough the people selling them ......
