Basic Gun Maintenance Course/Training

Evening All,

I'm fairly new to the shooting scene and was looking to do some training or a course on basic gun (both shotgun and rifle) maintenance (full strip and clean) and care to ensure I dont do anything to ruin my kit! Including the more simple tasks like mounting scopes, adjusting trigger pull etc.

Does anyone know whether these type of courses exist?

I'm based in the South East but would be wiling to travel for something decent.

Can't help with courses or training, but my best tip to you is. When you start doing ( strip and clean) etc. Put all the bits in a cardboard box. It helps with postage and at least the gunsmith has a chance to have all the parts to put back together. Good luck.

You can learn anything off YouTube these days and it's totally free just need to spend time watching a variety of videos on the topic and you'll soon learn the common themes that are good and shared and maybe even find videos about your specific rifle.

A course or even tuition from one person could be great but also could be just what they do and not what's best or what you should do. Vs watching videos and tuition from a variety of sources and then making your own mind up.
