+ one with deerman, I think Rory is still the only trainer to get a GWP to field trial champion in the UK. (badger of byranscroft if I remember right). My GWP is from this bloodline.:thumb:
Then after you have finished the training off to the doctors, for some valium or beta blockers:banghead::banghead:
Best of luck.

Bryanscroft bloodlines run through many a GWP bloodline! He's had two FTCH allspice and Veila Von Andeshiems. He's a good man!

There is a local lady who recently made her GWP up to ftch, Moonrunner marksman (i think) a very nice dog to watch.

As for the training dvd, u dinae say wether for deer tracking or pointing/ shooting over. From memory his dvd's only very slightly touch or blood tracking and jist show laying a very basic scent trail (if it is for deer work i would possibly reccommmend something else) and nothing i haven't read about in books or on here afore.
The gundog side is quite intresting and he has a very nice way of dealing with dogs, definately a carrot and praise trainer rather than the big stick approach. I'd say a lot off the stuff very similar to davy lissett (buccleuch gundogs) in the way he trains and handles them.
Rory has his pups retrieving as soon as, only 8 weeks old and also has them on whistle to come for food and sit for it from as soon as on to solid food. It does seem a goood way to do it

+ one countryboy, his dvd/videos are excellent for gundog training and are very breed specific, well worth getting for the early basic training alone.
I have had some great results using them with my GWP.
I agree that for tracking you are better getting a specialist book or dvd, but most of them dont cover the basic training requirements that are needed with a young GWP.
The whistle training for their food is an excellent way to start a young dog off quartering etc.

PS dont really follow field trials but Im surprised how out of touch I am.
Mind you just spent the last 18months training a GWP:banghead:

Was thinking, always a dangerous thing:)

MGD u dinae say wot age ur dog is, wot problems ur having or wot u want to train it for, or wot experience u have with dogs

In my opinion u'd get better value for money and learn more either doing some 1 to 1 training or group training with rory personally. For 100 odd quid u'd probably get 2 or 3 sesions if u spread them over a few months u would have time to sort any problems, if i lived closer i'd defo go down that route rather than the dvd.

I don't want to be critical but the dvd followed his pups throu there training but he never seemed to encounter the problems i have with my gwp, thats the sign off a good trainer thou and he makes it look easy. Unlike myself:banghead: I know where ur coming from sinbad.

I also thought the dvd was fairly breed unspecific and not even very hpr orintated althou it was all hprs he used, i thought most off the training would work well on any gundog and i have seen the same methods used by other trainers for spaniels and labs. I suppose good basic obedience is the same no matter wot type off gundog u've got.
