BDS Highlands Branch Autumn Meeting - 6th November

Venue – Strathconon Village Hall (IV6 7QQ)

Start time 10.30 am -- Duration - until we are done!

Theme of meeting – NIGHT SHOOTING – DEER WELFARE plus vermin & wild boar.
Equipment developments (we hope to have demonstrations etc) We will discuss the law / licenses etc, safety implications, moral /ethical questions etc.

Tea & coffee will be available all day – bring a packed lunch.

All are welcome.

BDS Members & non-members - all welcome
(Admission free) An informal event - It's all about the deer! (Again!)

Arrival / sign in & Coffee/Tea provided from 10.00 am
(Bring your piece - NB there are no shops in the glen)

During the day we will run a raffle to help towards the cost of hiring the hall.
Any donated prizes or contributions would be most welcome.

Have you any interesting photos or deer / stalking related items? - Bring them along to show / discuss/ compare.

BDS Branch Committee update on range days etc etc.

Presentation by Graeme Taylor of Scottish Natural Heritage on:-
Night & Out Of Season Authorisations: their legal background, types of authorisations, evidence required, competence and an update on the recent Deer Panel report on authorisations. Followed by open discussion and feedback, chaired by Alistair Monkman.


Presentation & demonstration by Drew Irvine of Drew's Lab on:-
Night vision equipment

Lunch break (timing not fixed)- Tea & coffee available all day
