Impact Assessments - Theory and practice

Monday 25th of March 2024
Drewsteignton
10am - 3.30pm
Cost per person £35 and will include a certificate of attendance.

This day is ideal for woodland owners and deer managers who wish to learn how to conduct a Habitat Impact Assesment (HIA). There will be some classroom theory followed by practical experience in a woodland.

Grants are now available to support the various aspects of deer management (FIPL/Countryside Stewardship/WS1). These all require a Deer Management Plan to be in place. Impact Assessments are an integral component of any Management Plan so this day is a great opportunity to learn about this process with a view to securing funding. As conscientious stalkers and deer managers we should all have this knowledge and be using it to monitor and inform the work we do, even if funding is not currently being sought.
