Just a quick post to say the next Branch meeting takes place on Tuesday 2nd April. As usual it will be held in the Education Centre of Dalkeith Country Park starting at 7pm. (Enter the Park via the main gate off Dalkeith High Street, take the first left and the Centre is approx 100 yards on the right.)

This month Jon Moore from Moore Leather will be giving a demonstration on making stalking related leather craft items.

Non-members are very welcome, however if you wish to attend please confirm your attendance via this post so we can ensure that the room can accomodate those that are attending.

Please note that the venue on tuesday 2nd april will now be the county hotel, high street, dalkeith

see you at 7pm

OK

Provisional outline for the demonstration

Topics covered will be handsewing/saddle stitching & basic leather projects; plain belt, rifle slings, bolt holsters, roe harness & advanced leather projects; wet-molded Blaser bolt pouch, stalker slings.
The above can be covered in depth or just briefly addressed, as per the mood on the night. Due to the time constraints I will have to use ye olde Blue Peter approach for some of the above, with different stages of one item being pre-made to show how it progresses from leather hide to finished article

ALSO

IF anyone wants to bring along items for repair I may be able to show how these are done too, as long as there is enough time

There may also be an opportunity to try some hand-sewing, etc. again, if there is enough time

I was reminded tonight that a bloke is coming out to quote for my new woodburning boiler !! aaarghhh,, so hopefully I will make it,,

Shame i cant make this due to work, sounds although its going to be an interesting night.

George.

IF it all goes ok & there is demand for a repeat performance, I'm more than happy to do a second demonstration....possibly a more themed night on a specific aspect of stalking kit, or whatever folk want to see
