Bergara blues…

The M595 and Tikka T3 are different.

Worth a read for anyone considering a Tikka.....

I have four M595s (did have five but sold a Master Sporter I wasn’t using as much as I should to a friend).

Out of the two I’d always opt for a 595.

However, if you want flexibility to ‘customise’ the rifle you’ll find a LOT more options with a T3.

I brought a Bergara it shot like a demon but fit and finish was a rough as a badgers ares
I’ve a Tikka Ace Cera coat and for the money there’s nothing to touch it ,
Lights years better than the Tac model and well cheaper
It’s all about perspective, if you want a 5 grand rifle pay five grand

Interesting, but can’t help noticing that the original thread is 15 years old and the last post was 10 years ago. I’d have to consider how up to date the info was

I’ve got a 595.

It’s a great rifle. But to honest my life would be easier if it was a T3. There’s just so much more support for them than the long discontinued model.

Ive got the hmr 14 pro, no complaints and the quality is excellent. Comfortable and accurate, would get another.

Every manufacturer makes a duff rifle, ive seen bad tikkas, mausers, sauers but on the whole they are good.

For reference 5 shots at 600m with hornady eldx out of mine. Its very fun to shoot.

Lucky or not for me I shoot lots of different models and makes and get first hand reports from lots of users,I have seen problems with bergara and tikka, had a ruger destroy itself, heard terrible tales of kimbers not grouping, seen a marlin that would not group under 2ft, bore scoped and there was no rifling on one side of the last three inches on one side of the barrel, a howa that would not group for love nor money .Had a Tikka that had cracking in the end of the barrel, brand new ! , fed up of doing warranty’s on Sako carbon stocks 5 this year.
All gun makes have problems, most guns will out shoot there owners, so what am my conclusions, all manufacturers have the odd problem with massed produced objects, odds are you will not get the bad one.
