What are you suggesting; that 90% of keepers use LF lamps?
I'll wager they don't.
i would deffo wager they do.... what lamp would you wager they are using up and down the country instead of lightforce striker/blitz ?

I just don't get LF being described as flimsy, I have two 170s, one over 30 years old made in OZ and has bounced about in the back of trucks most of that time, still works great, the other was roof mounted when I rolled the LR and although I bent the housing etc, bit of heat and plier work soon got it back in working mode.I've been looking at lamps too & TBH "flimsy" describes the build quality of most of them, including LF.
If they can't take being dropped a time or two, they're not up to lamping foxes.

I'm another 1 that reckons a very high % of keepers will use LF, both mine are ancient and also spend a fair bit of time clattering around the baclk of the pick up, all I've ever replaced is a couple of switches (and 1 was done for free).
I would add the % might be lower now than its ever been due to the amount of folk using either NV or thermal and the better quality of LED lights that u don't need a power pack for, but in my opinion are far inferior to a proper lamp.
Must admit I've also never liked only having a scope mounted lamp, just feels to dodgy/unsafe (as well as tiring) using ur scope mounted lamp to scan, never liked the idea of swinging a rifle around
I used a scope mounted LF 170 for 4 years, (still got it and it works) never had a spotting torch in that time so I did both with it. Dropped it loads of time out of my hand for a number of reasons.
No cracks or anything loose, changed the bulb once.

That's the idea of a spotting torch.....lol
For clarity you cant beat a halogen bulb at distance compared to my NM800, however the ease of use with a cheap Chinese red spotter and the 800 on a raised bracket is just a bit better than the 8.5 amp battery leads switches carry pouch etc.
Stubble shooting I will take a lamping partner with a hand held 170 also the 800 on top. A spotting torch each. The easy ones get mopped up quick as you know but 2 doors opening 4 boots on a still night (how come your mates foot steps sound louder than your own lol)
