did the online bow-ed certificate theory yesterday and got the field day qualifying certificate..... and then on fleabay last night I got slayed but will get in hand a PSE Stinger 3G (wifi included?):

For all those people who remember the proper rage that felt like me against the US and a couple of guys off here over bow hunting lethality compared to rifles, I never said I had a problem with the sport where people were actually skilled and proficient in their practice so this isn't me be a hypocrite.

You never know, will I swap my rifle for a bow on a hunt some day

Looks like a Monty Python sketch waiting to happen...

Hold it the wrong way round, tie yourself up in knots, and spear yourself in the foot....:D

I have seen bow hunting on the Tube, and it all looks very skilful.... When they drop Elk with them, then it has to be very efficient...

Good luck, and hope you fulfil your ambition...

All the best.

Neil.

make your own! make a steel plunger 6" nail in a sleeve and case with primer cut flush at head inserted in to tube then glued into a plastic tube and fill it with black powder then taped to arrow ??

If I can convince my wife that it IS a toy from Anne Summers I promise I will post pictures (but obviously I will have to find another forum and just paste a link)

:british:

So
wot was involved in the online test ...
Also out of interest when or where will you do the practicable part ??

will be in Illinois next week, and have a date with a similar set up, might bring it home with me.

har har, ticks, trees... I will remember you all

Stone, it was the Florida one: Bowhunter Ed Florida Course registration you can read through it properly and do it all in about 5 hours after registering. It's free until you've passed, then you just pay for the certificate that qualifies you for the field day. The qualifying test is 50 multiple choice questions and you have to hit 80% but you get as many tries as you like to get there so you can take the test as many times as you like til you either pass or get bored!

You can do the field day through: BOWHUNTING, THE ALTERNATIVE CALIBRE - IBEP for £80.... it's a lot cheaper than DSC1

I will have to practice like a bitch though...

Rick, it's a PSE Stinger 3G spent ages on youtube 'researching' what was about the best value for money bow on this years market

You chose well. Stinger has been around for years and every time they tweak it,it gets better. My Mate from Colorardo is sponsored by PSE so he can have what bow he likes, but he shoots a Stinger that is at least 6yrs old.

Just remember do NOT dry fire the bow as you will end up with broken strings and the possibility of shattered limbs.

If you have any questions how to set it up just get in touch.

Gary

One should NEVER dry shoot ANY Bow.. Not good and not safe either.

I must retrieve my Recurve from storage and get back intot eh local club and star once more. After more than two years it will be like starting all over again.

Good man Paul and welcome to the world of b**hunting ;)

Gary and co put us through our paces on Sunday last, and signed us off as IBEP-certified
