Binoculars advice please

Hi. Looking for a small pair of decent binos for my daughter. She is going up to Scotland for a couple of weeks and would like a good pair for bird watching etc, not stalking. Budget around £200. Like the sound of the vortex diamondbacks 8x25, seem to get great reviews. Or spend it on a older pair of Lecia 8x25. They are going to fairly old but if they are tidy maybe a better buy? Will the glass be superior in the lecia’s?
Thanks

Lecia but I’d take the hit and buy a pair of 8x42’s
Lecia or Swarovski slc used of course

Been a Vortex fan. With a lifetime warranty, it gives me worry free purchase even on used ones. Also the glass is good value for money and has served me well so far. I have the 10x42 version which is retailing now at £229for a new one.

Obvious question that we've all missed... How old is your daughter? 8x42 might be great value, but if too heavy she'll get the hump quickly and that'll be that (I could use my 12 year old as case study)

She will be 17 next month. Ideally looking for something not to big and heavy, up to a 8x 32.

For birds 10 mag might be better than 8

How about Zeiss terra pair on the bay nearly new £350 ?
I have no experience of them always has Swarovski
