Black Islander Chaps - worth twice the price of others?

My (fairly cheap) chaps have died after about three seasons abuse through brambles and over barbed wire and I'm looking for some replacements for next season.

I am aware that Black Islander products have good reputations but £30 for chaps as opposed to (around) £15 / £16 for several other brands seems a bit steep?

I am steering clear of Barbour because I have heard of (and seen) some real horrible quality from them recently.

Any recommendations please?

Thanks in advance.

Yes buy older s/h Barbour heavy weight ones.
Mine are probably 20 years old now and still usable, just.
I bought a spare set of this forum a year or so back and still haven't worn them, although their day is coming.

Neil. :)

The old Barbour's were definitely damutznutz of leggings and I will see if I can find some somewhere but a pair on fleabay are currently £45 which is crazy?
