Blaser R8 Barrel

I got a new 30-06 recently and don't think its the calibre for me. So, what's a Blaser R8 30-06 580mm barrel worth that's a few weeks old and fired less than 50 rounds?

Just the barrel, I'm going to get another calibre possibly 270, 7x57, 7x64 or 6.5 x 284 not sure which one yet though.

Second hand barrels sell for £450-£550 generally, with the mag insert as you will get a new one with each new barrel. I shoot a 30-06 r8 and its brilliant on uk deer if using 150gn soft points, shoots sub 3/4” at 200m and damage is acceptable. Good luck with the sale. Trade in you might get £350 ish

I have an R8 is 30.06 and can honestly say it’s my favourite calibre on everything Uk and pigs abroad. Persevere with it you won’t regret it. What do you not like about it? Recoil? Muzzle flip etc? Get used to it on a range and away you go. I use RWS 165gr DK twin core and it’s a really great round.

As mentioned second hand hand is a bit of a lottery but around the £500 ish Mark I’d say

R8 standard barrels are normally around $1000 aud used here , so would say around 575 pounds??

pretty handy calibre..
