Blooded my new Schulz and Larsen in .308 with cull buck Muntjac

After taking delivery and zeroing the new rifle last week, she took her first deer last night. This young chap is a regular on my small patch and tended to take the same route several night per week and at roughly the same time. I have noted deer often hold routines for a few weeks then change them - often to another routine. He'd eluded me until now for a variety of reasons. He has cast recently as can be seen. Risked a neck shot at 66m as he was very close to the boundary, and was successful - he dropped on the spot.

Lovely rifle, what grade wood is that please?
Thank you Keith. My understanding is that it was a grade 4 that they decided on reflection to downgrade and so I got it for a decent price. The best side of the butt is in the pictures, the other side is less figured. The model is the S&L Victory. Very pleased so far, the build quality is top notch. Bolt super smooth, very solid gun, steady weightiness, but not heavy. Proper steel magazine, there is no discernible corner-cutting. Lastly, the trigger is really nice. All combines to give one a sense of shooting confidence.

They are lovely, I bought a secondhand one from Ivythorne a few months ago, again a Victory in .308.
