Boretch eliminator does nothing

Yesterday my .204 had its 50 rnd clean. Forest bore foam 10 mins. Scrub out then single patch. Repeat bore foam. Patch out. Bore tech eliminator on brush several passes and leave for ten mins. Patch out rpt brush with Eliminator
Patch out. It was still dirty so used Bore tech Copper remover x2. Eventually patches came out clean.
Experience tells me that not good to really deep clean as this barrel appears to shoot best with a wash of copper.

I use a boresnake. Then I look down the barrel against a light. If it looks shiny I smile to myself and put it away happy.
Yes.
I know there are people who critisise our simple routine, but I think we spend more time smiling and being happy, and much less time worrying about minutiae. And if your rifles don't make you smile when you pick them up you're doing something wrong.

Any suggestions why the bore is blue? The two photos are from my new 6.5 after couple of boxes of ammunition
Blue is a sign that copper is being dissolved. Maybe your ammo has a decoppering agent in the powder? This is not uncommon nowadays.
However, buy a small bottle of Robla solo mil. Use that and see what happens. If Robla doesn't get anything out there is nothing in there.

Strange to me is that blue was there before applying the solvent but what you said make sense I've shoot hornady match ammo maybe there is some agent in their powder

The blue colour comes from reaction with brass or copper , You still have copper in the bore or your not cleaning the brass jag off - 400 rounds no clean ? You likely have layers of cover under hard carbon . This range of sovents are meant to be used together . on a full clean and ffs yours will need it after 400 rounds no cleans !
Hit it with the carbon remover ( allow it plenty of long soak time ) multiple times then go back to the copper remover - over and over switching carbon remover then copper remover
JB might be worth a go to get the stuff thats been mashed into the sides of the rifling layer on layer on layer
The only way to replicate point of impact and keep accuracy for the highest round count ? Maintain you bore back to clean after use on a week long trip chances are i will very likely clean during it at home the gun gets cleaned before it goes back in the safe .

The mentioned rifle with 400 rounds was cleaned to perfection in no time no drama there. The one from the photos is brand new fired around 40 factory rounds and photos are taken before put anything else in the barrel

just an aside ,has every one else noticed that bore tech eliminator has doubled if not trippled in price ! this stuff is very good but is being priced out of the market . i paid £15 for 16 oz three years ago .looked for a 16oz bottle yesterday and the cheapest is £46 up to £60 .any one know where i may find it cheaper ?

Try Livens 👍

That makes sense,but why blue??
Again, the copper deposits in the bore react to the bore cleaner, turning the copper deposits (and cleaner residue) blue. Kind of like tire/rim cleaner products turn purple due to the chemical reaction with iron deposits on the rims.

Rough bores cause more fouling/copper deposits in the bore.

Friend had a new 22/250 and continued to use shotgun cleaning products - no problems he happily claimed.

c500 shots he took it back to the shop where he purchased it, it was inaccurate!

They looked at the barrel and recommend suitable solvents and he got to work, accuracy restored and he is happy again.

Copper sulphate, presumably. That's bright blue.
Copper from the ammo + sulphur from the burnt powder residue.

(Just guessing here. Chemistry not my strong point!)
It's not my strongest either but to me this is best suggestion so far. Tried with Robla solo today and it doesn't touch it either 🤔

Then your barrel is neither made of stainless nor black steel but blue steel 🤣.
I‘d just happily go on and put the blue down to … whatever😂.

Works well on our fleet of work rifles (150 odd) and my personal rifles. Not had a problem move from KG 6 years ago and very happy with it.

Thorro clean is quite good.

Wet it with the liquid and a patch ,(the bore)

Then scrub with brush and paste for 15 full barrel lengths (ish)

Then a few more liquid soaked patches down the bore , then dry patches till clean.

It works really well
