Ashamed to say it but finally fired up my Bradley smoker which was bought for me Christmas 2018.

Smoked various venison loins from different species in several marinades and brines with Alder smoke bisquettes and Wow!!! Results are amazing first time and the smoker is so easy to use.

I have already prepared pheasant, goose, duck, boiled eggs and venison haunch which are going in tomorrow with Oak bisquettes this time.

My wife tells me that she apparently did a lot of research on this very site without me knowing and most people responded back and told her to buy a Bradley - Whoever you are thank you for the recommendation!

If possible, do not leave the smoker outside, clean it meticuously etc. That will ensure you get a long life out of it, since some material choices etc. are not the best in Bradley.

I have had it outside under a sheltered roofed open area for at least a year and no signs of corrosion yet. Spent another 4 year in a stable before that. However, I have only just done my first smoke so will take your advice on cleaning it especially internally.

I thought the idea was to not clean internally allowing the ‘smokey build up’ to accumulate & enhance the smokey taste.

I Don’t clean the inside of the tar build up, if anything it protects it and by not cleaning it you will save yourself hours of wasted time.
I just clean up fat that’s dribbled out etc, stuf that would make it unhygienic when left. Give the racks a little clean in the dishwasher when you’re done with a session and that’s it. Also, in a days smoking I’d only add sawdust a handful of times! It’s easy to over smoke stuff. That Said, I normally only use mine as a cold smoker and it’s a convenient and compact unit, despite them being horribly cheaply and badly made .
Kindest regards, Olaf
