Breathable face covering

Pretty sure I’ve got a cold weather hood specifically for mountaineering that has a mesh panel over the mouth area. I’ve never really taken to it or needed it though. Usually use a Buff

There was an American idea where the mouth mesh was copper like on old radio speaker grills from the 1940s the idea being as you breathe out the breath warms the mesh which holds the heat so that when the next breath comes in it is prewarmed to protect your lungs from frost damage maybe useful in the Rockies or Alaska.

Do you wear glasses? Hard to wear a mouth/ face covering without fogging those up I find.

If this is about warmth, top of your head and neck are the main spots - handwarmer tucked into either/ both? If it’s about cold air, get a face covering with an opening for your nostrils and breathe through your nose - your nasal passages warm the incoming air.

If it’s cammo, open a bottle of wine, burn the end of the cork, smear the ash in some petroleum jelly then let it rest for a bit. Meanwhile, drink the wine, ponder what in life is important then when the lightbulb moment comes, bin the cork and sooty petroleum jelly before you have to explain yourself to others.
