Just looking for any ideas you may have as I am about to build a large brick built shed in the back garden and fancied just incorporating the dog kennel onto it. I have a few ideas for his run and sleep area but wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas before I commit to it.
Kennel & shed will be 4m x 4m along the back corner wall which will be double skinned 6" block with DPC in between brick. Roof will be insulated metal sheeting.
His kennel area will be 2.7m deep by 2m wide which is the width of the bars and gate I have on the wooden kennel at the minute so he will have enough space for sure.
I was thinking of building his sleep box in the run with kingspan for insulation, laying insulated floor which I already have from his current kennel and either (bricking up the front) or (cladding out with ply) whilst leaving an access hatch with draft flaps for entry. I was thinking of allowing for a wooden lid on hinges for ease of cleaning and also giving him somewhere to sit on top.
Any ideas or pictures would be very much appreciated if you have a set up anything like this.
Cheers
