also interested in any advice on how to disassemble the maral nordic, or even just whether it can be done or not.
i have been searching the web for a few weeks now and I have cone across many people asking this same question but no answers
many thanks and great forum
Bit fiddly the first time but it can be done. I found very worthwhile as plenty gunk, bits of stalk etc in bolt assy and receiver area.
Don't try to remove the synthetic stock (nordic, brown etc), are all bonded together and you dont need to.
1) with bolt fwd remove forend (hex nut under fwd sling qd socket) and then both flat slder bars each side. You need to unhook the spring and slide out pin on retainer latch/lever (as shown on several BAR mk 3 auto vids on yt)
2) push through pins and remove trigger assembly (uncocked, with safety off)
3) Bolt should slide back and fwd freely now so slide back to expose hex nut on grub screw fwd end of cocking handle. Loosen then wiggle off from the oblong base attached to the bolt carrier. (Although it looks a problem, you dont need to remove the base protruding from the carrier (I tried and failed) - just move to step 4).
4) slide bolt assembly with cover fwd and rotate counterclockwise in receiver, it's fiddly but when you get it right it just drops out.
Assembly reverse of above, happy cleaning!
Hi,
Ive had some good use out of my 3006 browning Maral this year, including some great driven boar in Germany. Although the rifle is relatively clean, id like to be able to remove the sprung loaded bolt to clean it properly.
The manual and online advice doesn't show how to remove the bolt, can anyone help?
thanks
Rob
