budget lightweight scope suggestions

Those look quote good a well. Thats the whole issue with this budget range isnt it. 1000 choises.

I am also looking at used scopes, tend to get more for the price that way. Athlons arent common scopes here.

but how would you guys rate the leupold vxII series? i found some Scandinavum ones in 2-7x33 and 3-9x40. Found a couple for 290-350 euro. Original Price seems to have been in the 600 range here. Older model sure but i never minded old but good.

The Leupold VX-2 scopes are excellent lightweight optics in my experience and owing to their age tend to be affordable. I have two 1-4x20 scopes and a 3-9x50 that each cost about £200 second hand. They have optical quality way above what might be expected on such small light, cheap scopes. Here's an example group shot at 900yds with one of my 1-4x20 VX2 Leupolds mounted on my L39A1.

weight is what attracts me as well. around 350g depending on model. Its not going to be for low light use anyway, i need a bird scope for a light 222.

question is 2-7x33 or 3-9x40. Doesnt seem yo me mutch weight between them and i wonder if there are even scope legs that allow lower mounting for the 33mm. Even the lowest optilock mounts 44mm on my rifle. Id need some super low rings to take advantage of the 33mm on that little sako.

3-9x40 is the one I would go for.
