Bullet Heads used in Sako Superhammerhead .308?

As @Arbshot says...

Sako's own description from the above link...

"A heavy jacketed, strong and non-fragmenting bullet that ensures controlled expansion. A bonded core provides high weight retention, which results in effective penetration. It is boat-tailed for high ballistic efficiency, which causes a flatter trajectory. It was developed and tested by Sako ballistic laboratories first, followed by actual extensive big game hunting tests. The bullet is designed for big game hunting at short to medium distances. "

@Tomc1990, we don't mean to be mean, but the term "head" is widely abused here and winds up a great many members.

Sako are probably the instigators as they have their "Gameheads" and "Hammerheads" but they are talking about bullets, just plain bullets. Their marketing department has a lot to answer for.

The "head" of a cartridge is at the base of the brass. It's nowhere near the bullet and calling the bullet a head is not only poor terminology but confuses the sh*t out of many of us. We're not being totally anally retentive or pedantic, just keen on using the right words to describe the parts of a cartridge.

How's that for polite?

If you call them ‘heads’ they won’t work in your rifle - it’s a known fact.

That is certainly true, they don't work in mine.

I went to Dauntsey guns and asked for 110grain V-MAX bullets, The guy behind the counter said do you mean heads? I said no just the bullets... he wouldn't have it despite me pointing to it on the box...so he sold me heads but I walked out of the shop with a box of bullets.

I bought some bullet bodies the other day, then some bullet heads and then put a primer in the tail of the body and then filled the body with gunpowder.
Once that was done I pushed the head into the top of the body and lo and behold, I ended up with a round of ammunition. ;-)
