Burglary and police removing my guns

Stalin must be dancing in his grave.

Fear has gripped the nation, fear of authority in place of lost liberty and security, very sad, it's sad with or without our precious bloody licenses.
I'm sorry.. fear of authority..?

Doing the right and sensible thing isn't a case of being in fear of the authority. I'm not sure how Stalin relates to Burglars.

Anyway, apologies OP for the slight derailment. My advice is do what's asked and get your firearms back in a few months and hopefully never have someone break in again. Ignore the extreme suggestions of others to refuse and make legal challenges, it will only end with you being without your firearms for longer.

You are asked twice' to move your guns---Do it!
You never changed the locks the first time? ----Why.
Others with a less serious situation have had their guns and Certificate revoked, consider your self lucky. I hasten to add, how sorry' I am that your family have been violated in this way by burglars.

BC.
Yes very lucky when you consider his behaviour - Trying to live peacefully in his own home?

How can this possibly be “ sensibly cautious “?
The house was burgled, but the firearms were not taken, presumably because the security cabinet did what it was supposed to
You can argue the moral rights and wrongs all night, and I'll agree wholeheartedly that the system is completely skewed. But until we have a government with the balls to properly deal with criminals, and a justice system with the ability to properly protect the rights of the law abiding we're effectively stuffed.

To summarise,
You get burgled, following which you are instructed to move your firearms out of your home for a few months.
You subsequently suffer an attempted break in/ unsuccessful burglary or home invasion and you are instructed to again remove your firearms from the house until the end of April or have your firearms certs revoked and your property confiscated.
Is there anything concrete to indicate that the 2 incidents are related?
I think I would be contacting my shooting organisation’s legal department. I would also request a formal written copy of the instruction to once again remove the firearms from the premises for a defined period of time or have my certs revoked along with an explanation as to why this action is appropriate and a legal basis for the decision
This is pure victim blaming.
The fact they tried to use the keys from the first burglary would suggest they are connected….

Can you imagine what a breath of fresh air it would be if as firearm certificate holders we received more support than the criminals? I mean we are all whiter than white and jumped through multiple hoops...some from legislation and some from made up rules...and yet when victimized by others we're the ones that are inconvenienced.

I understand we are the element that can be controlled by removing the forearms in this case by why should a stand up member of the community have to be penalised for others actions?

Largely feels like a framing issue to be honest

“Oh no, another burglary attempt? Might not be a bad idea to stash your guns elsewhere until this blows over. Do you have an RFD who can take them or would you like us to?”

Vs

“Move your guns or we revoke”

This ^^ 👍🏻👍🏻

Maybe its time for a discussion on firearms being allowed again for home defence, especially for firearms certificate holders? That would make the bad guys think twice about who they were robbing.

Seems the current thinking is remove the liberties and freedoms from the potential victim to remove the threat. That is wrong.
