Buying goods on the SD

If this is the seller I think it is, I also paid for something and don't have. I believe a serious health issue happened and I'm not clear on the outcome.
A relative was handling comms for a bit but I haven't heard from him in a while.
The OP was quite a good lad, and we corresponded quite a bit about a common interest in Ruger falling block rifles.
I'm not inclined to think there's in any sense a scam happening, more a severe misfortune.
It would be good to know what's happening though.

Just to be clear.

I do not have a copy of his certificate as he told me the gun is stored at an rfd which was going to be sent straight from them.

I do not want any confrontation with him over £150 - it is just the mere principle of buying something in good faith and then no response.

I have today however spoken to the rfd who holds the rifle and the situation has been resolved. The rfd himself has had poor communication & lack of payment for gun storage - but he has had some communication, showing he isn’t dead or has had any particular issues. He just seems to be being difficult.
I'd be obliged if you could PM me the RFD contact details.

Could anyone shed any light as to where I stand with a matter I have been faced with?

I bought a rifle that was advertised on the classifieds section of this site - after paying in full and speaking to the seller I have had zero response to the postage/collection of my rifle.

Myself and admin of the site have tried to contact him on several occasions and we’ve have no reply even though he has been online several times.

I hope he is well and that no unfortunate circumstances have occurred resulting in his inability to reply to my messages - but I presume this is not the case as I have already mentioned he has been online multiple times.

I would like to note that this rifle was paid for in full back in August of last year and was discussed he would keep ahold of the rifle until my variation came through.

This is a last ditch attempt to resolve a situation and the decision to post this on a public forum has not been taken lightly.

I’m not quite sure on the legality of the situation and what my next steps should be.

Thank you in advance
Tom
For £150, not worth considering for a second

Yes.

In my case, it very much looked like out and out dishonesty with no extenuating circumstances.

I occasionally wonder what happened to him.

Which is strange because their previous posts seemed quite open and friendly.

I assume it was the same outcome for Mossy too.

Based on some background digging I did, I think he was attempting to sell things that didn’t actually belong to him (possibly belonged to a deceased in-law), and go caught out when the legitimate owner claimed them. I think he was in some financial distress.

Ffs.

Im sure the compensation of some good cuts of beef off his cattle wouldn't have gone a miss.

Even if the OP has resolved the issue now, is it really fair to allow other SD members to fall foul of this seller if they don't know who it is?

If they do remain anonymous then will they have privileges or membership removed to avoid any other issues?
