Caldwell chronograph

Hi All,
Has anyone experience of using the Caldwell chronograph. I can't get mine to work with my phone (Galaxy S5).
Having reinstalled the App , twice, I replaced the cable .All to no avail. It appears to be working so I'm guessing it may be operator error.

Same problem with my iPhone 6; some time ago now and I remember getting a caption "caldwell not detected" or something similar. Having spoken to the supplier, I replaced the jack plug and lead but to no avail so I gave up. It works in that it gives me muzzle velocity but it won't connect to the app so no data analysis.

Dito . I looked online, I think it may be a common problem.
Couldn't find a solution either.

Try connecting with a usb lead to an otg adaptor the serial ports on the audio connector can be flaky at best.
