Calibre Definition Question

Yes, I have a K31 as mentioned in my original post.
I liked the previous post as the judge demonstrated common sense, which I have not seen often in judges.
Bottom line seems to be you like strict definitions that nobody can stray from, whereas I prefer generality coupled with respect and common sense to not abuse that trust. Fortunately, my FEO is happy enough to provide that freedom.

You say 7.62 allows you to have the components for 7.5x55, components are not controlled so that is totally irrelevant.

I feel you are overthinking it, and possibly arguing for the sake of it.

It doesn’t matter whether I ‘like strict definitions’ or not (I don’t), they are put in place by the FLD so I have no choice. But, the ‘restriction’ of having cartridge specific conditions, with either/or allocations where appropriate, has never caused me an issue so it doesn’t bother me.

Firearms Act 2023 creates a potential offence for possession of components for which you have no licensed firearm. No criminal intent defence is tenuous, even though the burden is to prove intent. Easier not to have any ammo components not on your ticket.
Additionally, there is the practical issue of RFDs choosing not to sell you components in calibres not on your ticket.

No it doesn’t, it makes it an offence to be in possession of components with the intention of producing ammunition you do not have authority to possess.

As stated above, and as you keep ignoring, if the FLD in question insists on specific cartridge then it is all a moot point.

You are clearly just looking for an argument, so I have no more time for your drivel.
