Whilst in Canada in June I looked up prices of Remington primers in Canada and USA. They were at least half the price of what they are in UK.
We are being fleeced.

I hear this all the time, and I'm affected by pricing just the same as everyone else, HOWEVER, you cannot fairly compare the cost of a USA manufactured product, with the cost of the same product in the UK, unless you want to ignore the extra costs involved in getting the products to the UK !
So if something is $50.00 in the US, roughly £37.00 IF you use someone like Revolut to pay. On top of the £37.00, you have shipping, & handling, which for something like primers, powder, ammunition, isn't cheap, but even putting that aside, you still have, duty, and VAT. I don't know the actual tariff on these parts, but let's say 10% duty, so now circa £41.00, plus VAT @ 20%, £roughly £50.00, before the cost of shipping, and handling, at the very least.
From experience, trade discounts in the US can be a lot lower than you think, because their market is so competitive, and it could easily be as low as 20%, or even less, very little on relatively speaking low volume products.
Regardless, being asked to pay in UK £'s the same as is quoted in US $'s is not unreasonable, at least whilst the £/$ exchange rate is circa $1.4 / £
