CDSG. Customer service

They haven't given me an update, I just looked at the products on their website and they are now due to get it delivered in May. That's slipped a month since I looked a few weeks ago.
Some of my order is now in stock, but at nearly twice the price it was when I ordered. The rest is now expected in June!

it was hinted at today by a rfd that cdsg might be in financial difficulty and as i have a back order with them i may lose my money will i be able to cancel the order .cdsg say no to cancelling a back order but not sure if its legal for them to hold my money as they have not supplied the paid for goods.
I think this kind of speculative post is dangerous and possibly libellous.

Libel - "a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation"
The issues is your statement about their viability as an ongoing business is potentially damaging and without basis.
Your issue about goods on back order isn't terribly complicated. You knew the product was not in stock when you ordered it and paid for it and knew that there was a risk the dates would move and this is likely in the T&C's.

These are very far from normal times the demand for components and ammunition in the states is greatly out pacing supply, hence delivery times have gone from weeks to many months. Not a lot any retailer or importer can do about it, you cannot sell what you do not have, the question is maybe should firms take back orders for out of stock items? Choice is the customer to make.

Reloading solutions the “Arkwrights” of the reloading world, pick up the phone have you got? Yes marvellous have my money! Arrives next day 👌👍

tad old fashioned but if they ain’t got it, or can’t get it , it’s not there to be had.

nothing but a wonderful service from them.

Just a heads up that on visiting the CDSG site items are no longer shown as 'due in' on such and such a date nor are quantities 'in stock' shown. Everything seems to get placed on backorder once paid for. Have used them a lot but only proceeded with in stock items.

They are Ltd company - simple enough to look at their financial data online:

From the looks of it they have one director, and one employee. So very much a small business. I've used them a fair few times with no issue - but what I wanted was in stock. Perhaps he just needs to make it clearer what is in stock and what isn't - and the lead times.

It really wont' give much more info than what are on the 3rd party sites like this, though if you want to see the raw submitted documents - companies house is good.
No, the agglomerators of such stuff just leech it from Companies House.

If you really want to get inquisitive, start at CDSG LTD - Overview (free company information from Companies House)

It is all there, including his micro company accounts. I see nothing wrong there, and can read a balance sheet. And have had to do due diligence on a much larger scale. Which only started at Companies House.

If he doesn't have it in stock, then I assume that he has the contacts to get it, efficiently, to you, at a fair price. If it can't be had, well it cannot. My one dealing with him was entirely satisfactory.

Another example, you could take a look at say the way 1967Spud runs his private business. 1967SPUD RELOADING SUPPLIES LIMITED - Overview (free company information from Companies House)

AFAIK both of them are one-man-bands. Providing excellent service, but being human, and doubtless under personal and financial pressure (aren't we all) may not be standing by on the 'phone, or waiting for an e-mail to respond to instantly. Nor do I expect them to hold every fancy item on their websites, in stock. They will be at the mercy of their supply chains, as always, but rendered even more difficult nowadays.
