Changes to Pick Up Tax Rules

But the speedo will be out.........

Yes a chap came around to buy my girlfriend's car many years ago (think it was a rover) It had a noisy idler shaft bearing so I had a few golfs in the yard so we fitted one of those. Sweet as a nut...the chap chipped her a few quid then announced he was a trader...
Came back 20 mins later saying the Speedo was out....I had kept out the way but primed her. "As you bought it trade"
came in and shut the door... :tiphat:

I wonder if this will affect Discovery/Defender commercial variants BIK tax status. These are not supplied with rear seats as standard so perhaps not…..albeit many are (lawfully and in full compliance) retro fitted with second row seats.

Wonder if the speed limit restrictions will be changed to allow them to go 70mph instead of the 60….i would bet not, it’s all a scam to generate more tax income.

If the keb.weight of your dual cab pickup is less than 2040 kg it's classed as a dual purpose vehicle and can follow car speed limits. Most modern dual cab pickups are above this and have to follow van limits as you say.

Just saying. You can often get an extra 10pm from a speed limited commercial with larger tyres
It’s not the speed limiter - it’s the fact you are breaking the law doing 70mph in a ranger, hilux, Isuzu, Amarok etc due to their weight - capacity - officially they have a commercial speed limit.

Don’t think mine limited 🤷‍♂️ dmax av payed vat on all ma commercial vehicles no vat registered so big hit for private buyer
the changes are to the Benefit in Kind rules and applies to anyone running a pickup trough a business - whether its your own business or supplier as a company vehicle.

This will have no affect on the private buyer, who already pays full VAT and cant claim BIK
