Coat hangar style gambrel

Does anyone make a coat hangar style gambrel with a hook at the top orientated the same way as main bar to go onto a rail system?

Thanks

Mostly seems to be that the hook is on the rail, so you don't need a hook on the gambrel. But I have seen gambrels with hooks.

I'm going to have the rails running front to back - putting the hooks on the rail and then the gambrel on that would put the gambrel parallel with the rail, where I ideally need them perpendicular

My rail runs front to back. PM me your mobile number and I'll send you a little video of how I got around the issue.

I’m sure I’ve seen hooks with swivels. Orientate the gambrel any way you like
You can, but makes them longer which I am trying to avoid in a small chiller.

I have some stainless ones being bent up for me - simple S shape with the bottom half 90 degrees out to top

If you’re trying to minimise height loss in your chiller, decent thickness round bar made flat-style like lamb/mutton gambrel with a short welded top open coat hanger type hook can be obtained from any competent s/s fabricator, you’re only talking about a wee bend either end of the leg spreader to pass through the hocks and a 90° twist plus curve on the flat bar hanging bracket sufficiently sized to accommodate your rail diameter. It’s not as if you’re going to be hanging a steer. The flat bar could be drilled to allow the spreader bar to pass through then welded into place in the middle, obviating the need for material that had to be twisted through 90°. See pic:

Good idea, although 90 degrees S hooks should be ready tomorrow 🤞

Just warm them up and turn them 90 in your work shop!
Or cut the ? off and weld it at 90.

Made from scratch. Make one bend, turn 90 and make the other.

We have our own basic bender, but getting our neighbour a blacksmith to do it
