***NEW PRICE*** - now £4500 - but see post #28 for a bit more on price.

I’m doing much more target shooting these days, and stalking has very much taken a back seat. Consequently, this beautiful Mauser M03 setup has become a “cabinet queen”, which is a shame, it deserves to be used. So I’ve decided to offer it for sale. It is in really excellent condition ( the photos don’t really do it justice, if you want more please ask) and consists of:

A very nicely figured walnut stock/action, with a very good standard trigger and a (single) set trigger.

The stock has a second stud fitted for attachment of a bipod.

A barrel in .30-06 calibre (23 inches long); fitted with thread protector. Custom bore guide from The Shooting Shed.

A barrel in 6.5 x 55 calibre (21 inches long); fitted with thread protector. Custom bore guide from The Shooting Shed.

Both calibres use the same magazine and bolt head so it’s easy to switch from one calibre to the other.

I haven’t noticed any change in point of impact after disassembling and then reassembling the rifle.

The bolt head can easily be changed if necessary, to suit for example, magnum calibres.

A Swarowski Z4i 3 - 12 x 50 scope (illuminated reticule)

A Khales Helia 5 2.4 – 12 scope (illuminated reticule). The scope was recently returned to Khales in Austria because the windage turret was very stiff to adjust. They completely overhauled and repaired the scope (FOC!) and it’s fine now.

Both scopes are in excellent condition.

Each scope has a Mauser “double square” QD mount.

A Wildcat Evo M14 x 1 Spigot, 7.62 mm calibre, in excellent condition.

The sound moderator fits both barrels.

A Mauser sling.

All in a Mauser fitted case (takes stock/action, both barrels, bolt, magazine and sling).

I’m looking for £4500 plus RFD costs (unless face to face of course). This might seem expensive, but if you add up the cost of sourcing all the included items, I think it’s actually good value, in addition to being a very nice thing to own.

Indeed. The original owner obviously spent a lot of money putting this outfit together. Makes the price I'm asking seem quite reasonable!

I love these guns but the tax man is absolutely rodding me stupid

I’ve promised the wife no more major cash splurges till the new tax year

Absolutely amazing 😻

Thanks, that's what I thought when I bought it! Nowadays I do much less stalking and more range work, so it spends most of its time in the cabinet. Which is a pity.

It'd make someone a really nice Christmas present...
