It looks like you have been taking a few shots in a hurry without thinking things through carefully perhaps? but it could just be bad luck , i have seen really good stalkers drop a clanger

There was no clanger dropped. The animal was dead before it hit the floor. The point I was making was that digiscope/thermals do not give the shooter the depth of vision that glass does.

Very true , Though mitigation is totally in the shooters hands
