Country File

Just can't see where its going and fed up with countryside for townies wherever have the likes of Jack Hargreaves gone? very sad I believe.

Haven't watched it for years for that very reason and it looks like the game fairs are heading the same way. If you can get BBC Scotland, Landward is a better program when its on

When that guy said "Squirrels don't like Chilli powder on their nuts", I nearly choked on my beer!!!! What a rubbish piece of TV that programme is...better with Landward...

If i do watch countryfile I tend to mute the volume and just look at the countryside. The farmer "Tom" is it ? He's sold his sole! It should be called "townie file" - or "I wear a Barbour jacket and shiny new hunter wellies and walk around like i own the place a file"

grips my **** a-file......

I just cant work out why they don't show an honest country life show once a week. Just see how it goes, and I would put money on it that with the right mix it would be excepted by a lot more folk than first thought.
I don't believe that your average townie is against what we are about and if done well would be of great interest and completely different for the masses.

I must admit to tuning in to see a bit of Ellie for 5 mins other than that its only worth watching at quarter to the hour for the weather for week ahead!

I guess we must realise that the BBC's target audience is Daily Fail readers who live in the town and have simplistic notions when it comes to guns (ban 'em all), deer (Bambi) and see the countryside as rolling fields, mature oaks, Capability Brown landscapes and country estates that have fallen into public ownership, which gives them the knowledge and power to say they own it and should decide what happens.

You're never going to get anything from the BBC except a pretence of impartiality while subtly plugging their own agenda. Speaking of Ellie (hubba hubba) is a good example. An article on the BBC website about her says she is against the badger cull, but must present an impartial viewpoint. She failed there then, didn't she?

If my memory serves me right Jack was actually a townie himself but was a good story teller. "Out of Town" used to be one of my favourite programmes on Southern TV. Their successors also had "Country Ways" which has also disappeared now.

These were both made by ITV companies, it is a great pity that the BBC cannot produce a rural progamme like them and why did they get rid of Robin Page? At least he has some idea of what he is talking about.

When I challenged Ray Mears on his incorrect statement about there being "no wild deer" on the Isle of Wight I was soon fobbed off on to his producer who failed to favour me even with a reply, let alone any plausible explanation.

Mother watches it but is cheesed off with the "team" indulging and peddling their fav extreme sports/pursuits all the time. It's just a paid jaunt for them to play silly buggers.

If I am doing tea or something I may catch a glimpse of it but cannot really say I know much about he programme. I would possibly recognise Adam but the others ......................................... Who?

Typical of the BBC crap.
