Custom-Made Rifle Slings

I see a lot of threads looking for premium rifle slings and can't help wondering why there appears to be zero custom leather makers offering either their own take on what such should look like or inviting a commission in what a would-be client wants.

Hell, its not at if some AI Chatbot is going to surface on TSD and promise to deploy needle, thread and pricking iron!

It’s a by product of modernity, synthetics, plastic, etc. same goes for wooden stocks and blued rifles.

The ones who know quality will always require it, but the suppliers will sadly dwindle away with time.

I have a custom leather shop locally who will thankfully make anything I ask from the finest materials. To a 5 star standard, for relatively little money. If you have a project in mind, do ask, I might be willing and able to help

Perhaps you should set yourself up to cater for the demands - should have plenty of time in your hands now you're retired & you're a dab hand with the needles & thread

Alan at Danum blades makes some nice leather ones..

So many requirements for a sling for your go to rifle, I like leather 100%, but it’s not forgiving on a slog, a stretchy one just just lets the rifle jump and makes it uncomfortable and that leaves you with the sling sliding off the shoulder on a regular basis- a non slip, softish but strong sling is hard to find
I’m running a rubber based sling which is proving ok at the moment
I’ll still wait in anticipation for a decent leather sling to turn up
